Maupay Nga Udto
so, that would be the noontime greeting when speaking Waray here in Tacloban.
anywho, a couple of my closest friends i’ve made here with the CODI church in PI left for Manila two nights ago. i was actually sad when CG (or Cristigil) and Mary Ann left. though we’ve hung out for only 4 nights / 5 days, we’ve got to know each other quite well considering we’re together 24/7. what was disappointing was not being able to give a proper goodbye. it’s a long story with too many details to post now, but basically we were in a hired jeepney and out of no where it was “ok, bye - see you later”. i thought i was going to be able to say bye to them at the airport.
a lot of people asked me if i was sad or what ever and i would try to make light of the situation. at one point i wanted to look through the pictures in my camera but did not want to pull it out since people would notice. haha.
on to other things, this adventure here in the Philippines is quite an experience. hopefully when i get back home i’ll find time to elaborate and share my experiences.
stay blessed.

“Hello” from Tacloban, Philippines
this’ll be a short one as i believe some of us (the younger ones of the group) will go to the local malls or something (walang SM sa Tacloban). as expected, i’m having a great time here.
what sucks though is my inability to speak fluent Tagalog. eh… so, as much as i’d like to converse with these awesome people, obviously it can be difficult sometimes. though at least strangers speak to me in Tagalog. haha. meaning at least i look Filipino.
oh yeah, and my phone is officially just a watch in the PI. time to go to the corner store and get some water and snack.

No “Goodbyes” - Only “See You Laters”
so, this past week has been quite eventful to say the least. and it doesn’t end just yet. in fact, the next month will be insane (in a very good, blessed way) as i will be on a missions trip in the Philippines for four weeks. my flight is this coming Thursday @ 12:30am. i will be returning on Thursday, May 31. and then on Saturday will be the start of a four week training with my unit. i think i’m going to miss my friends and family.
the next couple of days will be crunch time as i gotta pack for the next two months and next two occasions. there’s a method to this madness i tell yah.
let’s back it up a couple nights ago and talk about the youth outing at Sea Bowl (Astro Bowl) in Pacifica last Friday. it was an awesomely super-duper turnout as all six lanes i reserved (in faith) were all used to full capacity; Sea Bowl has a policy of six max per lane. anyway, believe me when i say i didn’t have 30+ individuals RSVP with me. what i’m saying here is God is good.
i’m kinda surprised i set the highest score that night with 161. i think played one of my top 3 games that night. after that, the crew rolled to In-N-Out Burger in Daly City.
well, i have much to do tomorrow and (before i sleep) will be reading my book new book that came in the mail a few days ago. later.
